When it comes to commuting in the Heartland, distance is expressed in minutes, not miles. In Hardin and Meade Counties, for instance, the average commute to Fort Knox is fifteen to thirty minutes. Even from Louisville, a commuter can reach Fort Knox in forty-five minutes or less. Some other areas may be a bit further out, but with good roads and minimal traffic the commute is an easy one.
If you have friends and family spread across the country, getting to our airports quickly and easily is not a problem. There are four major airports, Cincinnati/Northern Kentucky International Airport, located in Northern Kentucky, Blue Grass Airport in Lexington, Louisville International Airport in Louisville, and the Nashville International Airport just down I-65 in Tennessee. There is so much to do, and so much of it is close by. Communities in Kentucky’s Heartland are conveniently located within an easy reach of work, school, the arts, dining, shopping and recreation.
